As a Central Florida native, Dr. Hunter Davis always knew he wanted to provide health care services in his local community. Dr. Davis had a passion for math and science at a young age which continued as he excelled in these subjects as a student at Winter Park High School. Dr. Davis’ aptitude for math and science prepared him for the University of Florida. As an undergraduate student at UF, Dr. Davis continued his course of study by further expanding his knowledge in the sciences as well as completing numerous business courses. These years of study earned Dr. Davis a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, as well as a minor in Business Administration. During his undergraduate studies he decided that dentistry was the profession for him to pursue. Interestingly enough, records show that Dr. Davis actually identified orthodontics as a career interest in 5th grade!

Dr. Davis’ strong academic science background coupled with his published molecular biology research prepared him to take the next step in his educational journey, attending the prestigious College of Dentistry at the University of Florida. During these transformative years, Dr. Davis confirmed his interest in the field of orthodontics and set out to pursue a residency in orthodontics; an initial interest in orthodontics turned into a passion, and he was able to secure a seat in the Orthodontics Program at Jacksonville University (JU).

After eight enriching years in Gainesville, Dr. Davis moved to Duval County to complete the accelerated and rigorous two-year orthodontics residency at JU, serving patients in North Florida. In addition to a rich didactic and clinical education at JU, he conducted a clinical trial for his thesis that evaluated how malocclusion can contribute to distortion of speech production. This extensive research project created a unique opportunity for collaboration between the School of Orthodontics and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at JU. This work earned Dr. Davis a Master of Science in Dentistry, in addition to a Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics.

Dr. Davis was delighted to return home to Central Florida after being away for a decade of post-secondary education. He is committed to delivering the highest level of care and creating beautiful smiles for patients in his local community. When Dr. Davis is not seeing patients in the clinic, you will most likely find him on a tennis court. He grew up loving the game of tennis and has spent years playing competitively.
